SMOOTHING RODS
These rods have no wire windings, but are ground and polished to a mirror finish. They are used in the coating machine to flatten out the coated liquid after the web passes the wire-wound rod and before it enters the drying oven.

HOT MELT RODS
Precision ground stainless steel tubing can be heated by circulating hot water or oil, or by using an electric heating coil. They are an essential part of any hot melt coating machine.

PILOT COATER RODS
Pilot coaters use a wide variety of rod sizes. INDUSTRY TECH can produce a single rod or a complete set of rods custom designed for your pilot coater operation.

REWOUND RODS
Normally, it is not economical to rewind metering rods. In cases where the original core rod was expensive (machined ends or special diameters), rewinding may be practical.
INDUSTRY TECH is equipped to repair, straighten and rewind your special rods. Prices are quoted after we inspect the worn rods. |

TEFLON* COATED RODS
Whenever streaking or rod cleaning is a problem, Teflon coated rods offer a surface which is hard and slippery.
Teflon rods are easier to clean and will wear longer than conventional rods.
Teflon forms a hard, thin shell on the wires which does not distort their shape.
*Teflon is a Registered Trade Mark of E.I. duPont Company. |

HARD NICKEL COATED RODS
When metering rods are used to coat abrasive materials, their life can be shortened drastically.
Our solution to this problem are rods coated with a hard nickel material, a few tenths of a mil thick. This chemical process maintains the shape of the wires and ensures the accuracy of your coating thickness. |

TITANIUM NITRIDE COATED RODS
Our newest technical coating solves problems where shorter rods, up to 48" long, are exposed to severely abrasive materials. Titanium nitride provides an ultra hard shell to prolong rod life and protect against corrosion, and has a distinctive gold color.

CHROME PLATED RODS
Chrome plating is usually not needed on our spring-tempered stainless steel wire. However, many customers find that a hard chromium shell will increase rod life.
