Most metering rods must be supported to insure straight line contact with the web. INDUSTRY TECH produces custom-designed rod holders for customers throughout the world. We machine them from the highest grade of UHMW* polyethylene, nylon, brass and other materials.
The sketches above illustrate the cross-section of some typical rod holders, which are precision machined up to 120" long.
These machine elements are manufactured to fit your coating machine, and are made to your design. Typically, they consist of an insert supported by a sturdy bar of material mounted between the side frames of your coating machine. The rod holder is designed to hold your metering rod securely, in full contact with the web.
Holders can be made with a drainage slot or drain holes to return excess coating liquid to your sump.
